One of the first steps to guarantee that the wood Pellets become sustainable, is to ensure that the entire fabrication process meet the quality controls. The rigorous standards required will guarantee that the biofuel is for sure produced with raw material from reforestation wood and that the required tests during the production were fullfiled to keep the product quality and the equipment integrity.

ENplus A1 Certificate
The Pellets quality is evaluated according to physical and chemical criteria and the Koala Energy is one of the first companies in the wood Pellets business to acquire the ENplus A1 certification, with requirements based on the international ISO 17225-2 standard, which guarantee quality throughout the entire production chain.
This system of certification aims to guarantee the supply of wood Pellets with the well-defined and stable quality for heating and power installations. The certification includes the requirements for the production and quality control of wood Pellets, product requirements, for labeling, logistics and storage and requirements for delivery to the final consumer. The products need to obey a series of technical specifications, such as length and diameter, mechanical durability, percentage of fines, ash and moisture, apparent density, calorific value and percentage of additives.
FSC® Certificate
In 2016, the Koala Energy acquired the Chain of Custody certification, in which it authorizes the use of the FSC® seal on final products. This certification requires wood tracing from the gather to the product commercialization, which allows to guide the consumers about the origin of the forestry raw material. The FSC® is an international and non-profit institution, which aims to facilitate the management of forests, following principles and criteria that combine ecology, social benefits and economic viability. The FSC seal guarantee the origin of the product, the conscious consumption and the decrease of deforestation.
